Finally Time to Move On

After a long blogging hiatus, I've decided it's time to pick it back up again. When my cat Skraggles died and I posted the memorium photos, I just couldn't bear to have them bumped down the page on my blog for the longest time.

About 1.5-2 months after Skraggles passed away, I was driving home from errands in Irwin and had an overwhelming urge to stop at Petsmart. When I went in to visit the shelter kitties in the back, the first one I saw looked exactly like Skraggles. So here's me, in the middle of Petsmart, bursting into tears, talking to this cat, saying "kitty...do you want to come home with me?" and he keeps meowing back at me. I took this as a sign and called Rob, who was in class at the time. Rob came up to Petsmart on his lunch break and said yes, he definitely wanted him too.

Our new little buddy's name is Jack and he's a pip! He was only about a year old when we got him this past spring, so he's still got more kitten in him than anything, even though he's a full-sized cat.

Here's Jack:

He and Xander, my other black longhaired cat, became fast friends. We call them "the mirrors" because they look so much alike. It's hilarious to see them wrestling - when they lock up and roll around on the floor, you can't tell which paw or tail belongs to whom, etc. And, boy, can they run! When they chase each other, it's at top speed and god help whomever's in their path.

Speaking of Xander, who usually climbs into my home office inbox (letter tray for incoming crap), I think he's been teaching his tricks to his brothers. I caught Booger (Boo-kitty for short) sleeping in my inbox a few weeks ago:

I don't know how he manages to climb in and out of there without knocking everything out of it (Xander cleans house when he exits, usually.) Here's another comical pic of Boo sleeping with his mommy, Audrey:

My kids really know how to snooze! Of course, they do get a lot of practice. Wish I had that problem!

That's it for now...!
